Connecticut at Stanford, 30 December 2010

Steve Mitchel

With a sell-out crowd, Steve had to shoot "from the nosebleed seats" but still got some good action and sideline shots for his flicker gallery, including one of four alumnae,

And one of Jeanette Pohlen ripping things up:

Michael Li

Michael was there and shot an instant earlier with a wider lens:

He posted that and several good pics of the packed stands to his flickr set.

Baranduin Briggs

Like Steve, Baranduin says she "had to sit in my season ticket seat instead of moving to where I have an more unobstructed view, so I had to shoot through the excited fans in front of me." Just the same she got some excellent views up to set to continuous, including this one (look closely)

Nneka has just put the ball in the hoop despite Maya Moore's best efforts. Look in the background for reactions from Ros, JJ, Candice and Jayne.

Elsewhere among her 47 posted shots, Baranduin has this showing one of Kayla's reverse flip-ups.

Kelley L. Cox

Kelley L. Cox is a professional sports photographer who posts a selection of her work on her eponymous blog. Check it out for highly-polished pictures like this one of Nneka celebrating the win.

Dave Cortesi

Dave put a few keepable shots of pregame and sideline actions in his smugmug gallery, including this one Marian took of a rapt fan:

Steve Mitchel

Steve posted 16 pics to his flickr gallery including this one of the tip-off:

And a variety of other nice shots of play action as well as bench interactions. Check the gallery; we'll just tease with these:

Baranduin Briggs

Baranduin posted 31 shots to her blog, set on continuous, including this one of tip-off:

And a variety of other good action and venue pics, but we'll just go with the teasers (teased hair, in fact):

Dave Cortesi

Dave took mostly shots before the game and after, at the Tent, posting 16 shots to his smugmug gallery. However, just before tip-off, Marian said, "Do you think Nneka can out-jump Phillips?" so their camera's click joined what must have been a perfect storm of shutter noises at that same instant:

Yes, she could. By about 4-5 inches, it looks like. Check the gallery for other pics including head shots of:

Stanford at USF, 22 December 2010

Baranduin Briggs

Baranduin was a little slow getting her pics up ("I think my computer wants a holiday break" she writes) but posted a big selection to her blog set to continuous, including one of her signature monochrome action shots of Nneka:

...and one of Toni's unique free-throw setup (is it from a volleyball service style?)

Steve Mitchel

Steve posted some nice pics to his flickr gallery including two shots of contrasting coaching styles:

and one of his daughter and others with a home-made 800 sign:

Dave Cortesi

Dave got a few decent shots and posted them in his smugmug gallery including one of Katy Steding watching Jen Azzi congratulate Tara:

(That's local newsman Vern Glenn just behind them with the camera.) And one of Sara James on defense:

Fresno State at Stanford, 12 Dec 2010

Baranduin Briggs

Baranduin posted 24 shots to her blog including a shot of Nneka at the starting tip-off. Did you notice that the opposing player didn't even try to jump? In this shot you can see why.

Baranduin also shows us Kayla celebrating Jeannette's drive to the basket.

Dave Cortesi

Dave Cortesi wandered around with a new camera and got a few shots worth posting to his smugmug gallery including one of Deb Gumbley and Candice Wiggins:

and one of a french horn player in the band. (If you know her name, add a comment.)
