Debut for Brittany McPhee

This was the first game for freshman Brittany McPhee. Her practice time had been limited by a foot issue, and Tara said after the game that this was only the third time she's taken part in full-court play.

Considering her limited minutes on the floor, the fan photographers did well by her.

From a vantage point just under the North-end basket Tom got a number of action shots for his Smugmug gallery including this nice one of McCall going up to score:

Baranduin sat in her usual position and got 53 shots worth posting to this Smugmug gallery of which at least 75% feature a Stanford player with both feet off the ground, like this with "Bird" in the air:

And even multiple shots of Tess with both feet off the ground (go Tess!)

Summer Basketball

At three different times over the summer, regular contributor Baranduin got to summer basketball games.

On 14 May, Baranduin attended a Storm at NY Liberty game at Madison Square Garden. Click through to the smugmug gallery for a few pictures of Nicole Powell and a lot of pro action like this:

In July she got up to the dim confines of Kezar for a pro-am game and put some pictures in this gallery. Despite the dismal lighting conditions she managed some good action shots like these:

There are some Stanford players in there somewhere, too.

On 3 August she braved the wall-to-wall hoopla of Staples Center to see the Ogwumike sisters face off in the Sparks versus Sun game, and posted a slug of pics to this Smugmug gallery. Standing out among the many shots is this of Chiney getting a shot after Nneka slipped:

There's a better shot of the two colliding, but as Baranduin said, it is unfortunately blurred. There's quite a few good shots of Kayla as well.

Final Four in Nashville

Michael stayed the course, shooting both semifinal games and the final with UConn and Notre Dame. His gallery of 42 shots, all taken in Bridgestone arena, is here in Flickr, with shots like these:
